Transit Chaser is a free photography-planning and community tool. It helps photographers estimate possible aircraft transits, contrails, plane-on-plane alignments, and other sky-related opportunities using your location, browser settings, third-party flight data, and celestial calculations.

Transit Chaser uses your location to calculate where the Sun, Moon, aircraft, contrails, or other visual alignments may appear from your point of view.

Your location is used for calculation purposes. Transit Chaser does not intentionally store a long-term precise location history on its own servers.
Your browser, device, map providers, hosting providers, or other technical services may process temporary location-related information as part of normal app operation.

Most of this information is stored only in your browser. You can clear it through your browser settings, by clearing site data, or by using in-app controls where available.
If you enable email alerts, Transit Chaser may store your email address in your browser so the App can remember where to send alerts.
When you send a test email or when an alert email is triggered, your email address and the alert details are sent to Transit Chaser’s backend and/or email delivery provider for the purpose of sending that email.

Email alerts are best-effort only. Emails may be delayed, fail to send, be rate-limited, or land in spam or junk folders.
Transit Chaser may store flight detection logs locally in your browser. These logs may include timestamps, callsigns, azimuth, heading, selected mode, prediction settings, and detection margin.
These logs are intended to help you review detections. They remain on your device unless you download, share, clear, or otherwise export them.
Transit Chaser may allow users to submit or share photos, captions, names, handles, social links, comments, or other community content.
User-submitted photos and content remain owned by their original creator or rights holder. By submitting content, you give Transit Chaser permission to display, feature, resize, crop, store, reproduce, and share that content within the App, gallery, community pages, social posts, promotional material, or related Transit Chaser pages for the purpose of showcasing the App and the community.
If you submit content, you are responsible for making sure you own it or have permission to share it.
Some optional provider modes may require you to enter your own API key, host, account details, or provider credentials.
Where required, these values may be stored in your browser’s sessionStorage or similar browser storage and used only to make requests to the selected provider. They are not intended to be permanently stored by Transit Chaser.
Browser storage is not the same as encrypted password storage. If you enter API keys or credentials, you do so at your own risk and should only use keys you are comfortable using in a browser-based tool.
Transit Chaser does not intentionally build a long-term personal tracking database about you. However, temporary technical logs may be created by hosting providers, email delivery providers, analytics providers, advertising providers, browser providers, security services, or other infrastructure services as part of normal operation.
These logs may include information such as IP address, browser type, device type, request time, error logs, page visits, API route usage, or similar technical information.

Please do not submit anything private, sensitive, copyrighted by someone else, or anything you do not want shown publicly.
You may contact us to request removal of your submitted content. We may also remove content at our discretion, including for copyright concerns, privacy concerns, inappropriate material, incorrect attribution, technical problems, or legal risk.
Transit Chaser uses reasonable technical measures for a small browser-based web app, including HTTPS where available.
However, no website, browser storage method, API request, email system, or third-party service is 100% secure.
You use Transit Chaser at your own risk. Do not enter sensitive information into the App unless you are comfortable doing so.
Transit Chaser generally stores app settings, local logs, and email alert preferences in your browser until you clear them or they are overwritten.
Session-based data may disappear when you close the browser tab or session.
Email delivery providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, advertising providers, security providers, and other third-party services may retain technical logs or delivery records according to their own policies.
User-submitted content may remain visible until removed by us, replaced, deleted, or removed at your request where reasonably possible.

Flight data, schedule data, aircraft type information, callsigns, altitudes, headings, speeds, celestial calculations, predictions, alerts, and alignments may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or wrong.
