Takeoff & landing companion
Find your place from the sky.
Save your house or another spot before flying. Then point your phone camera out the window to see which way to look—even without mobile data, when your phone's GPS and direction sensors work.
01 Save your destination

Move or tap the map to set your destination. Map tiles need internet; the saved place works offline.
At home? Tap “Save where I am” before your trip. Or tap “Choose on a map” while online to pick a spot directly in Window Finder. Shortened map links need internet and cannot be resolved offline.
02 Look out the window
Phone onlyPress Start to request camera, GPS and orientation permissions. Use the rear camera; guidance accounts for the screen rotation where supported.
The overlay is an estimate. GPS can fail inside an aircraft, and the compass can be disturbed by metal. Don't use the arrow as proof that a particular building is your house.
How it works / offline checklist
- Open Window Finder once while online before flying so the browser can cache its page and scripts.
- Save your destination on this phone. It stays in this browser's local storage, not on Vercel.
- Allow camera, precise location and motion/orientation permissions before boarding if prompted.
- GPS may work in airplane mode near a window, but it isn't guaranteed. No position = no reliable direction.
- Use the rear camera. A floating direction guide is not the location of a roof; a 3D marker requires recent GPS and altitude data for both places.
- Use only when permitted by the airline and safe to handle the phone.
